The Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) (Birth to Five) is a 4-year full-time undergraduate program designed to prepare students for a rewarding career in early childhood education.

This degree focuses on teaching and learning for children from birth to five years, combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on professional experience.

Students develop a deep understanding of child development, play-based learning, inclusive teaching, and curriculum planning. The program also includes 80 days of professional placement in approved early childhood settings, allowing students to apply classroom learning in real-world teaching environments.

Admission Requirements

Academic:

  • Completion of Year 12 (or equivalent), or an AQF Level 4 qualification such as a Diploma or Foundation Program.

  • Equivalent international secondary qualification accepted.

English Language:

  • IELTS 6.5 overall (no band below 6.0), or

  • PTE Academic 58 (no band below 50), or equivalent test score.

Applicants not meeting the English requirement can complete an ELICOS program prior to commencement.

An online interview may also be conducted to assess communication skills and suitability for teaching.

Learning Approach

The program blends classroom workshops, online study, and professional placements.

Students are assessed through projects, case studies, reports, group work, reflective journals, and practical teaching evaluations.

Graduates will gain real-world experience in childcare centers, preschools, and early learning settings, developing strong teaching and leadership abilities.
